Last year when we moved to Switzerland and I bought a Finnish agility license, one of the benefits of it was that we could go and compete in France, Germany and Italy on top of competing in Switzerland. I thought surely we would do some traveling and we could also enter the competitions.. But in reality the cultural and language differences made it challenging to even begin to look for when and where would competitions be held and how to register for them. Plus planning for travel then as well, since not much happens around here when it comes to agility.. All that just wasn't happening.
So, for 2014 we'll only have the Swiss Oldie license and attend the oldie competitions we can. My little kennel boy Valtteri is getting older and does not need me so much anymore, and I have made friends with the agility people in the local dog club (two things which should allow me to go to a competition on my own for a whole day instead of having to ask 'the manager' to drive, wait, wait and drive ..), so our chances for catching quite a few competitions are pretty good.
Besides, there are other things too, right? I believe Rekku thinks so, as he enjoys the long walks in the nature and the naps on the couch.. Yep, we went walking with the whole pack in the morning again, and now all three boys are napping :)
Ps. I will see if I can visit the practices of rally-obedience and dog dancing soon, see if we would like to broaden our horizons from just agility..
